NOTE: According to the Parks Vic website the Red Hill Road gate has been closed due to auto gate failure and security reasons. The gate will remain closed until the auto gate can be repaired.
This popular walk along the dam wall provides spectacular views across the park and to the hills & beyond. It's a lovely walk whatever the weather or time of day. It follows the line of the dam wall with the water on one side and a very steep drop along most of the other side. Hint: don't look if you aren't good with heights and keep the kids close at hand. Being exposed it can get a bit windy too.
There are usually plenty of kangaroos to be seen from the path, especially in the late afternoon when they gather at Kangaroo Flat down at the base of the dam wall.
The path is flat, nice and wide, and mostly gravel or paved, suitable for prams or bikes.
