It's a policy decision of the Upper Beaconsfield Community Centre Inc., that on days of declared CODE RED AND EXTREME FIRE DANGER RATING for the Central district that the Community & Early Learning Centres will close.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our members & parents, but the safety of the public, your children and our staff is paramount. Early Learning Centre fees will NOT be incurred.
It will be the responsibility of all members to keep informed of weather conditions and updates if a Code Red and/or Extreme rating has been announced for the CENTRAL district. These conditions are well publicised to the general public in news broadcast, radio and television.
If in doubt you can check the CFA website -
IT MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE FOR THE ELC TO NOTIFY FAMILIES ABOUT THE CLOSURE ON THE DAY SO PLEASE ENSURE YOU KEEP YOURSELF INFORMED ABOUT THE WEATHER CONDITIONS
The Centre has comprehensive Policies & Procedures that have been submitted to the DEECD that cover all emergency situations which may arise at the Centre. Evacuation drills are practised regularly throughout the year in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Regulations, 2011.
Further information on our procedures can be discussed with our Committee of Management.
