Upper Beaconsfield Community Early Learning Centre (UBCC ELC), owes its existence to the community’s response to the Ash Wednesday bushfires. The ELC continues to respond to the needs of the community with a safe, secure and nurturing environment for their children as well as supporting parent’s needs.
The service encourages children to make independent decisions while increasing their awareness of their self-help skills, based on their age and individual capabilities. Educators lead by example and act as role models for children to nurture them through play experiences, which is a critical part of developing and acquiring children for life skills.
Children at UBCC ELC develops a sense of belonging and builds on their own social experiences to build friendships in their own setting. The program aims to develop and extend on the learning programs so they are focused on children’s needs and interests, whilst taking into account their culture, strengths, abilities and links with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), 2009.
