The Upper Beaconsfield Tower Run/Walk first started in 1997 and today it is an undulating to hilly course of about 6.5 kms around the streets and tracks of Upper Beaconsfield, taking participants from the township (starting at Charing Cross) to the Water Tower and back.
This event is part of the Annual Upper Beaconsfield Village Festival which features many stalls, shows, food, entertainment and activities for all the family.
We are pleased to announce that this year there will be two events - one lap or two. All participants will wear a bib throughout the race and times will be immediately recorded as the start and finish lines are crossed. Times and results are also available online as they are recorded.
Come along and enjoy the sounds of our talented musicians, while browsing the stalls or just relaxing under a shady tree with a latte or an ice cold drink.
Our local community groups will cook up a storm once again and the very popular Art Exhibition will have a range of quality work on display and for sale. There will be plenty on offer this year, with a great selection of scrumptious food & drinks and new Stalls to browse and enjoy.
The Kids can go wild with the $10 wristband giving them unlimited access to all rides and activities for the whole day!!!
"Upper Beacy Bags" is a community driven group using the Boomerang Bag model to create reuseable, environmentally sustainable bags for our community. They create a range of different bags including shopping bags, library bags and cutlery pouches using donated materials.
The team meets on a Tuesday during the school term and everyone is most welcome to come along and lend a hand.
If you have any materials to donate, please drop them in at the office or at one of the workshops. Donations of working sewing machines & overlockers are also very welcome.
Bags are available for sale in Upper Beaconsfield from the Community Centre, Foodworks & Up the Hill Bakery - $3 each or 4 for $10
